In their family business most of the office work is done by Jelena Ljubić while her husband is mainly focused in the installation of the internet, video surveillance equipment and repair of computers. The Ljubić’s family business after ten years started to expand thanks to the ideas presented by Jelena.
The business of internet providing and computer repair was going well for the Ljubić family from Strpce, they had enough clients at Number One Computers – their family company, established 10 years ago. But things started to change for better at this small internet oriented company when Jelena Ljubić returned from her maternity leave. Jelena’s presence in this family business decision making process couldn’t pass unnoticed. Her comeback made the needed difference for the expansion of the business.
“My son Jovan now goes to the kindergarten and I have 8-9 hours to focus in the company”, says Jelena Ljubić adding that only now the company she started with her husband can freely spread its tentacles into business.

Now the family company has a new name – Euronet and it has expanded its services and products thanks to the re-engagement of Jelena. “Now I have more time to commit myself to work, to spread our business network. Organization is everything”, adds Jelena Ljubić, a 32 years old woman with a degree in business management, while sitting in her office located in a house owned by her.

“Due to the fact that we live in a tourism oriented environment we decided to enlarge our business by offering video surveillance especially for those people who have weekend houses here”’, Jelena says adding that she is a very ambitious person who can’t just stand sitting around the house and let her husband be the only breadwinner in the family.

Young Entrepreneurs Program helped Jelena’s business with a grant of 2,500 euros
The idea to add new services and products came during early morning regular coffee drinking sessions with her husband. “We supplement each other, we are the right hand for one another”, she says with a smile referring to her husband. Jelena adds that their business idea was converted into a business plan and the plan a month ago was financed with 2,500 euros by Young Entrepreneurs Program – funded by USAID.
Jelena Ljubić hopes to have a good start with the new services and products so she can hire an assistant in her company and expand further more the business. “We always planned to hire one or two assistants, one full time and another one part time”, emphasizes Jelena adding that this will be defined depending on the business outcome from the new services and products.
Jelena says that she does most of the office work while her husband, who is an engineer, is mainly focused in the installation of the internet, video surveillance equipment and repair of computers for their 80-100 clients – to whom they offer mainly internet provided by Kujtesa from Prishtina.

No prejudices
In her work as an entrepreneur Jelena Ljubić did not have any awkward situation where her presence as a female entrepreneur would spark prejudice by any client or business partner. “There were no prejudices during the work I do and even though I am a mother to a small boy I can still arrange my obligations”, adds, Jelena while remembering the first days when around ten years ago she and her husband started from scratch the family company which now is finally expanding.
