Discussing business cooperation
Forty-nine women from the villages surrounding Dragash gathered in the village of Vranishte in a meeting organized by NGO Lady/Wominnovation Kosovo to discuss how they can profit from their unique handicrafts made generation after generation.
Female entrepreneurs from the great Dragash area, in a meeting organized in village Vranishte by Ngo Lady/Wominnovation Kosovo, were informed about the possibilities how they can take advantage from handicrafts made by them – that are considered unique creations in this part of the Western Balkans.

The forty-nine gathered female discussed with Sanija Murati from Ngo Lady/Wominnovation Kosovo about how they can start working together not just for Kosovo but also for the international market. In this meeting Wominnovation Kosovo was promoted with various printed materials. In this meeting took part also Bajram Fusha from Besa Consulting who informed the Dragash women how they can interact and network with other women to do business.

“I am glad to be here and see such a large number of you women of the villages of Dragash being present here. We came to Dragash because we think that women of this region need help”, said Sanija Murati during the meeting stressing out the fact that the Dragash women can easily profit from their handicrafts especially from knitting and sewing.
Murati added that Wominnovation Kosovo wants to help the women of Dragash through their experience in producing home made products. “The women of Norway want to cooperate with the women of Kosovo and today we are here so you can show your ideas”, said Murati adding that to do this the women of Dragash need to work initially between themselves.

Women of Dragash want to have be present in the international market
An ideal way of promoting the handicrafts made by the Dragash women – according to Murati is to offer them to international markets. “If you want to support one another then you need to work together. I would like to see your products being sold outside Kosovo”, said Murati.
Women of Dragash want assistance
Djula Sahtijari from village Vranishte is a 41 old businesswoman that runs a store – a small family business. She says that women of Dragash need a lot of assistance. “Young women can contribute to the development of this area but each of them has her own opinion how to do it”, she said while adding that female entrepreneurs in Dragash need something more than just discussions. Sahtijari added that handicrafts made in Dragash can be a success in the international market.

Nazlija Ahmeti a 51 years old woman is known for her knitting
Nazlija Ahmeti a 51 years old woman from the village of Ljubovishte that is known for her sewing and knitting said that she is willing to use her 30 years of experience in handicrafts to produce materials that can be sold outside Kosovo. “These meetings help the women of Dragash and women need them since they can work in sewing, dairy products, with honey, etc”, Ahmeti said adding that meetings like this are very good for women to develop business ideas.
Venera Jakupi 40 years old from the villager of Vranishte that is engaged in doing handicrafts says that each woman in Dragash needs help. “For the moment only meetings do not help”, she said But not all women are focused in handicrafts.
During the meeting organized by NGOL Lady/Wominnovation Kosovo the gathered female entrepreneurs talked mainly about business communication, networking capabilities, application of the new designs on traditional products, opportunities focusing on new markets and product placement through a common link.
