Many young Kosovar entrepreneurs like Florentina and Albina Rrahmani expect a lot from the Prishtina Start Up Weekend.

Pristina. Florentina and Albina are the only females among the participants within the 9 groups that are developing their business ideas in 54 hours at the Prishtina Start Up Weekend (PSW).

Although they are very young, sisters Florentina (20) and Albina Rrahmani (22) have decided to be part of the PSW in order to use to the knowledge offered in this event. These two female aspiring entrepreneurs through PSW want to develop a business idea through the creation of a web application about real estate sales.

“I came to the Prishtina Start Up Weekend to see how a business can be established in 54 hours. I also came here to gain new knowledge about business”, says Florentina that currently is studying finance and accounting at the university.

The group discussions especially those that are about the creation of business are among the main interests of Florentina – in her group she is responsible for marketing the web application that is being developed.

“I like learning new ideas, cooperating with other people. I think that being part of the Prishtina Start Up Weekend is a good way to help youth in developing their business ideas since in Kosovo it is quite hard for young people to transform their ideas into business”, she says adding that being part of PSW is very helpful for her especially in sales for web applications.

Her older sister Albina Rrahmani feels great for being part of this innovative event in launching and planning new businesses.

“Here I am gaining new knowledge from mentors and discussing the ideas in the group is something great”, says Albina emphasizing that in Kosovo it is hard for young people to open their own business. However Prishtina Start Up Weekend makes this easier for her.

“There are not as many possibilities like Prishtina Start Up Weekend where one can develop its idea”, says Florentina who is optimistic that the business idea of her group will be among the three best ones.
